FAQ

How old does a student have to be to start their riding journey?

Children must be at least 5 years old to start in our program.

What do you wear to a lesson?

If a student does not already have official riding attire, students must wear boots with a heel, a t-shirt that must be long enough to be tucked in (NO CROP TOPS), riding pants with a belt (leggings okay for first time lessons), crew socks, and hair pulled back into a low ponytail or braid. An ASTM/SEI approved helmet is provided for the first lesson, but consistent riders are required to purchase all essential gear.

What disciplines do we offer?

We are a private English riding facility that offers lessons for the hunter, equitation, and jumper athlete.

Do I need my own horse?

We believe exceptional mounts produce both knowledgeable and successful riders. Our barn currently has candidates for lessons, leasing, and showing. Leasing is a great introduction to owning a horse. We can also assist students in finding the perfect match, based on their goals and budget.

What are the requirements and expectations for the show team?

Students looking to be apart of the Joyeux Show Jumpers show team are required to lesson a minimum of twice a week. You must have all required show gear, such as a show jacket, beige breeches, etc. The Joyeux show team is expected to model exemplary teamwork, sportsmanship, skills, responsibility, and knowledge, as you are representing our program.
